FAQs

This is a very professional FAQ that will for sure answer any questions you actually have.
Question

Dress Code...

Answer

We have received a lot of questions about the dress code for our wedding! There is no strict dress code, but semi-formal or cocktail attire is a good rule of thumb. Don't wear jorts. Maybe... don't wear a white dress

Question

How did you two even meet?

Answer

The two lovebirds met at the classic Russell House patio on campus. It was Cate's freshman year and Tim's sophomore year-- they were both between classes and both sat down at the same table where a ton of their mutual friends would hang out during the day. They sat and talked about the band Houndmouth because Tim was going to see them in concert later that week. They both thought that the other person was super attractive but did not act on it! It was not until almost a year later that they even interacted again.

Question

Why is Tim so hot?

Answer

People have wondered why he is so hot and has not been able to conclude a single root cause. It could simply be genetics, or it could be his musical talent. A lot of it could be the way he interacts with people. Cate seems to think it is his butt.

Question

What are some things I can do to become more like Cate?

Answer

This is a tricky one. No one has yet been able to master their Cate-erisms, though many have tried. Step 1, you gotta have a genuine confidence. I'm talking about the kind of confidence that stands up on countertops to make jokes, or loudly sings lyrics incorrectly. For some it takes years of practice, for some it comes naturally. Step 2, be able to eat or drink anything in any position at any time. Some people have a tough time drinking water or eating chocolate while laying flat on their back, not Cate though. Some people have to eat their entire meal while it is hot. But to be like Cate, you must be willing to start your meal and pick at it slowly over the course of the next 2 hours or so. Step 3, debate debate debate! This is how we learn about what people believe and care about so that we can inform ourselves and love them! Cate has mastered this in a way that is fun for everyone! Step 4, you must hate Zaxby's and Buc-ee's! And you must love what is good and true. Step 5, eat anything with either beets, goat cheese, feta cheese, green onion, pickled veggies, honey...or maybe even all of them at once. Step 6, be the most convincing person in a room of people deciding on a movie to watch...and then choose poorly. Step 7, be obsessed with Tim. If you can nail all of these down. You might just become like Cate. And Cate is a lovely human.

Question

Who made the first move?

Answer

Cate kissed Tim on the cheek when they were just friends...

Question

Friends to Dating... HOW?

Answer

In August of 2018 they met (like I said, they met briefly with SPARKS but did not interact again until a whole year later) then... in August of 2019 Cate moved into the Dawg House with 4 of her best gal pals. One gal pal in particular (Hannah Yard), was placed to lead YoungLife at Irmo High School. She was on the same YoungLife team as TIM..... So Tim would come over to the Dawg House before Irmo events or team meetings because her house was on the way. It became routine, and eventually, Tim would pick up car-less Cate from campus and bring her home because he was headed there anyway! It was through this season of Tim spending time at the Dawg House (and driving her home) that Tim and Cate began a true friendship. They were indeed besties. Cate even journaled that Tim was one of her guy best friends and it was SOOOO platonic. It was... really. We even were dating other people. In December of 2019, Tim's long-term relationship came to an end. We were both home for the holidays for the majority of that month. But in January of 2020 Cate very foolishly entered a relationship with someone else.....she did not know it at the time, but it would shortly come to an end in March. Still in the back of her head, she loved her friendship with Tim. For spring break that March Cate, Tim, and a bunch of other friends go to Josie's mountain house for a good time. Cate is still dating said boy. Spring break gets extended for a week for some reason and we all go home. During the extra week off, Cate and said boy breaks up, and the extended spring break was (let's just say) A LOT longer than anticipated. Finally, in May 2020, Cate and Tim are back in the same city. They are both free to consider their feelings with nothing to hold them back. Cate did not admit her feelings... according to the text message receipts that Minsong pulled out (very quickly), Cate "did not like Tim, but was in love with Tim."

Question

What is the timeline here?

Answer

Finally free to consider each other more than friends, Cate and Tim spent the summer of 2020 as JUST FRIENDS and never told each other how they really feel. They were probably in love but did not want to say it. At the end of that summer, Tim told Cate that he liked her. He asked her on a date, but Cate said 'Wait!", because they wanted to be just friends for a little bit longer. They probably knew that they would be together forever and wanted to savor the time when they were plain and kind of simple pals. After a week they could not even contain themselves! They went on a date! They officially decided to become boyfriend and girlfriend. At about three months in Cate casually said that she could see a future with Tim, and he smiled. About 6 months in Tim confidently told Cate that he was in love with her, and a week later she said it back. Tim ran a 5:30 mile that day... a personal record. They had the best dating relationship ever! Then after dating for 2 years and 1 month Tim proposed to Cate in August of 2022. She said yes! Well actually, she said "oh my gosh" approximately 32 times and then said "yeah." Tim has been sure to remind Cate of this as often as he can.
