How we met

#CoOpToCouple

Our story began in 2022, in the most modern of ways: online, where two people with questionable sleep schedules and an undeniable love for gaming somehow crossed paths. What started as a simple GIF quickly turned into hours of talking and laughing together. Before long, we weren’t just sharing game tips; we were sharing pieces of ourselves. We bonded over late‑night quests, pixelated adventures, and the kind of conversations that make you forget the world outside your screen. Somewhere between Hyrule and real life, something clicked. It wasn’t just about gaming anymore. It was about us. Our connection grew from shared fandom to shared dreams, from co‑op partners to life partners. And every day since, we’ve kept choosing each other—whether we’re exploring new worlds or just navigating the everyday ones. Our love story might have started online, but it’s become the most real thing in our lives. And like any great Zelda adventure, it’s full of courage, heart, and just enough chaos to keep things interesting.

How he proposed

#StarGazers

On May 7, 2024, Matt took me back to McDonald Observatory — a place where so many of our firsts began. It was our first trip together, our first star‑guided tour, and a place where we realized how easy it was to just be with each other. Even on our very first date, we ended up talking under the stars for hours, completely losing track of time. Somehow, the night sky always had a way of pulling us closer. So returning there already felt like coming full circle. Under that same endless sky, Matt led me to a quiet spot away from the crowd. The stars were so bright it felt like the universe was leaning in to listen. He told me how much our journey meant to him — every adventure, every moment that made us feel like we were building something real. And then, with the stars glowing above us, he got down on one knee. I said yes, of course. It was the easiest, most joyful yes I’ve ever given. Now, whenever we look up at the night sky, we’re reminded of all the moments that brought us there — our firsts, our laughter, our love — and the promise we made beneath the stars that have always watched over us.

Tying the Knot

Handfasting is an ancient Celtic ritual, popular in modern Pagan weddings, where a couple's hands are bound with cords or ribbons to symbolize their spiritual union and commitment, representing two lives coming together, often while exchanging vows. Originating in the British Isles, it was once a temporary or betrothal marriage but is now a symbolic act, giving rise to the phrase "tying the knot," signifying unity and the binding of promises.
