I proposed to Cat on a weekend getaway to Charleston, SC. She was really hoping I would propose on Valentine's Day that Friday but I caught her off-guard. When we exchanged gifts, Cat was surprised to find a hair dryer instead of a ring. The next day, I planned another fun day of activities, concluding with a walk to the Charleston waterfront park and a romantic candlelight dinner but Cat was grumpy because she thought it would be another year before I finally proposed. She didn't want to dress up because it was so cold out and continued to insist that we order an Uber and go directly to the restaurant. Little did she know, I had it all planned out. I secretly hired a photographer to snap photos on our walk and at the fountain. Once we got to the park, I told Cat to go stand by the fountain and I would take her photo. Cat walked up to the fountain and when she turned around for the picture, I was on my knee with a ring in my hand.
