We are gettig Married!

We are planning on getting married in New York City City Hall around Thanksgiving time with our immediate family. The ceremony times drop three weeks before the date, so fingers crossed we get a time later than 8:30 in the morning! We will then celebrate that evening with our families.

Living in NYC was new to both Cat and Chris. They didn't know it yet, but their new apartments were only separated by 3 floors in the same Murray Hill apartment building. Chris was on his way to grill on the building's rooftop, a poor imitation of Alton Brown's "Ol' Cap Magic" mushrooms recipe in tow. In that New York minute, Cat and her friends happened to be on the very same elevator up. The car was no different than most elevators in the city - silent. Then - a voice from the back broke the hush: "Mmm, those mushrooms look good" Generally, conversations are avoided in NYC elevators. But the initiator of this one was a beautiful woman who had just moved from Texas. Cat and her friends ended up joining Chris and his on the roof for an afternoon of drinks and serviceable food. A week later, Cat and Chris were on their first date at a local comedy club. He knew she had a heart of gold when she insisted on staying at the club long after the main set to provide amateur comics an audience of two. To cap the night - an elevator door may or may not have closed on the two as Chris initiated an awkward, yet memorable, first kiss. The two continued to grow closer as they explored the city together. Talk about a NYC dream come true - dating an amazing person, no subway or taxi required! Carrie Bradshaw would be so jealous. After 8 years of living their best NYC life - filled with friends, volleyball and delicious meals - the two decided to take the show on the road. Cat and Chris explored new places, restaurants and volleyball courts across San Francisco, Miami, Silicon Valley, Destin, and New Jersey. Finally settling in Denver earlier this year. These travels were punctuated with a proposal in Manhattan, and now Cat and Chris are excited to announce their plans to get married!
