Question

Landing in BALI

Answer

As most international flights land in the evening, we would suggest finding some accommodation on mainland Bali for the night you arrive (the last boat to Nusa Lembongan is around 5pm so in most cases you will have to wait until the next day for the boat. Seminyak, Canggu or Sanur are all not too far in a taxi. Seminyak is the closest, around 30mins. Canggu, and Sanur are around 45 mins to over the hour, depending on the time you land and the traffic. Traffic on Bali can be hectic but if you land late at night, normally the traffic is a little lighter making your journey a little quicker. If you have the time it might be an idea to spend a few days exploring the Island of Bali before heading over to Nusa Lembongan for the wedding.

Question

Where is Nusa Lembongan?

Answer

Nusa Lembongan is a beautiful Island 30 mins by fast boat from Mainland Bali. It may look like a small Island but there's lots to see and do. A trip to manta point to snorkel or dive with the manta rays or simply just chill out and relax on the beautiful white sandy beaches with a cocktail in hand, you won't want to leave the blissful paradise.

Question

Where do I get the boat to Nusa Lembongan Island?

Answer

All fast boats leave 4x daily from SANUR, BALI. Sanur is a lovely fishing village on the east coast of Bali with some lovely hotel's (check out Artotel) beaches, good surf and good pizza at Massimo's Italian pizzeria if you're craving western food (lots of lovely local seafood here too). If you're limited in time, heading to Sanur when you land is a good option so you're ready to get the first boat in the morning. Sanur is around 30/45mins from airport depending on time of day and traffic.

Question

Where can I stay?

Answer

Check out the travel section :) Plenty of accommodation options from £10 a night up to £200!! If there is a group of you/family, then renting a villa might be a better option. Some good websites are on the travel section of this site. Be aware that NUSA PENIDA is a different island and quite far from the wedding venue ( you need to get another boat to Penida). Penida is a beautiful Island however and definitely worth a day trip to explore. NUSA CENNIGAN is an option for accommodation, but access is a quite tricky as you have to cross a small bridge so bear this in mind after drinking a few bintangs on the wedding night! Another beautiful Island with some lovely beaches and nice cafes to watch the sunset. Le pirate beach club on Cennigan has some cute beach huts and good food.

Question

Do you want us to stay at a specific hotel?

Answer

The wedding venue is a Beach Club with no accommodation on-site. Sandy Bay do have some beautiful villas surrounding the beach club if you want to stay near the venue but as it's quite a small Island you will never be that far away from the venue. Sandy Bay offer free pick-up and drop of from any hotel on the island to the venue, so staying near Sandy Bay isn't essential!! We would recommend staying around the main areas of JL JungutBatu, dream beach, Sandy Bay and coconuts beach. There's lots of lovely options on the hill surrounding coconuts beach and they all have amazing views over Nusa Lembongan and Mount Agung. If anyone wants any recommendations just give us a shout and we will happily help. Some good options that we've stayed in before with some epic views are Song Lambing Huts and Lembongan Cliff Villas. Linda bungalows are super cheap and basic but right on the beach and close to everything so makes a good option.

Question

Best Place to stay if you don't have transport?

Answer

Staying around the main strip of Jl. Jungutbatu would be a good idea if you didnt want to hire scooters. This is one of the main HUB's of the island with nice restaurants, bars, shops and yoga all within walking distance. Some nice choices of accommodation around here and some right on the beach. Check out Ohana's (right on the beach) or some of the beach hut's around there are also lovely. Tigerlillys is beautiful and has a lovely restaurant too, right on the main strip but feels like you're in a beautiful jungle, not on the beach but 2 mins walk down the road and you're there!

Question

Transport around Nusa Lembongan?

Answer

Best way to get around and explore is renting a scooter!! (approx. £4 per day) You can also rent a buggy if there is a group of you, car hire not really available or practical on the island!

Question

What is there to do on the island?

Answer

Lots to do from snorkelling with manta rays, surfing, yoga, or drinking cocktails by the pool!! Check out the things to do section on the website.

Question

Is tap water safe to drink in Indonesia?

Answer

No! Please don't drink from the tap in Bali. It's recommended to bring a reusable bottle to reduce plastic waste (plastic is a big problem in Indonesia) and fill your water bottle with filtered water. Restaurants, cafes and your accommodation will normally always have filtered water to fill your bottled water!
