Our Story

Ben's Point of View: At the end of our first date, I remember hugging Catherine goodbye and asking her if I’d been good enough for a second date. For the first couple of dates, I’d half serious-half jokingly asked if I’d been good enough for yet another date. I continued asking, even well after we’d become established in our relationship. The question has become a running joke in our relationship, and I still ask it from time to time. As I reflect on our story, it’s become clear to me that our relationship together has flourished because we’ve never stopped dating each other. From multiple Military Ball events, to fierce and competitive pickleball matches, and all of the collegiate and professional sporting events we’ve attended in between, we’ve had the times of our lives. We’ve adventured far and wide, exploring the great state of Texas, to New York City, Boston, Philly, and Charlotte and even Cologne, Germany-our adventures have helped us grow together and I couldn’t be any more excited for the adventures we have yet to embark on. While military life hasn’t always made it easy, we’ve made the most of our moments together by prioritizing loving each other through fun dates and adventures. To me, that’s our story. It’s a small chapter, and maybe even just a prologue to what will most definitely be a long, prosperous and exciting book of our future together.” Cat’s Point of View: “Just so you know, my location is shared with multiple people… just in case.” It was a topic of conversation on our first date—Ben was still a stranger, and this was my very first online dating experience. Little did I know that I would soon be lucky enough to discover that my favorite place in the world would become wherever he was. While how we met wasn’t necessarily how I imagined meeting my future husband, I can confidently say that Ben is everything—and more—than I ever hoped for in a future husband. That first date, sharing amazing burgers and talking long after the restaurant closed, was the first of many times I would lose track of time simply being with him. By our third date, we talked for eight hours straight, and somewhere in those conversations, I knew I was going to fall in love with him. From traveling adventures and trying new recipes together, to creating new traditions and celebrating birthdays, from career achievements to being each other’s rock when life gets hard—life with Ben is filled with laughter and light. He makes the ordinary feel extraordinary. So put on your sunglasses and get ready to celebrate with us, because the future is looking bright!
