Michael and I were 13 years old when we actually first met one another. We were both in middle school, and met through a mutual friend. Fast forward a year or so later (October 2004) and we happened to run into one another at a high school football game. I will never forget the awkward eye contact/smile we made to one another lol later that evening he text me and that was the beginning of Mike and Mo. He would go to my softball tournaments, our moms would pick us up and take us to the movies or the bowling alley, he would ride his bike from his house all the way to my house lol you know, all the cheesy sweet stuff. He than finally asked me to be his girlfiend on Friday, December 3rd, 2004 after eating dinner with his family at Black Angus. LOL. I swear it`s all the little details that make me smile. It all seems like yesterday to me. We dated for about 8 months and then we broke it off...but it never really fully ended. We went on throughout high school and did our own thing, even dated other people, would hangout and party together occasionally. We often would run into each other (thats the West side for you, small town feels), and kept in contact over the years. There was just always something there between us..no matter how hard we tried to look past it, we couldn`t. We always came back to one another. We always knew we would end up spending our life together, it was just a matter of good ole timing. Fast forward to 2010, we started hanging out, and talking again-next thing we know, we find out we were expecting and the rest is literally history! We have been doing life, and raising our four beautiful children together ever since! It`s been quite the adventure, but we wouldn`t have it any other way!! xo
It was a typical Thursday. I had just picked up our kids from school, and when we got home Michael had asked me if I wanted to take our pictures that evening instead. My birthday was that Monday, September 2nd and for my birthday weekend he had set up a few surprises for me, one of them being a birthday shoot for just him and I. My first response was NO! I hadn`t showered and my hair was thrown in a messy bun. He then mentioned that our photoshoot wasn`t possibly going to happen after all on the weekend, so the fact that he had put that together, I couldn't pass it up. I jumped in the shower, and got ready really fast. As we got into the car and was about to leave he told me he was going blindfold me. He mentioned he wanted the location to be a suprise so as much as I hate surprises, I agreed, and there I was blindfolded. He then started playing certain songs that are meaningful to us and we started reminscing on our journey and how far we`ve come. I was already crying. You know, all the feels. Then I started thinking he was surprising me and taking me to the Rebelution concert! One of our favorite bands was in town, and we didn`t get tickets due to his work schedule so I thought for a second that was where we were going. Then we finally came to a stop. So many things were going through my mind at this moment. He then helped me out of the car, and we walked for what seemed like ever! Then I started to hear music playing (it was rebelution of course), and he took off my blindfold. My eyes were still closed, I couldn`t open them now, I was too nervous. He then told me to turn around, I said No! lol my heart was racing, I had no idea what was happening. Well, I finally did and there he was down on one knee, asking me to marry him. Instant tears. I was shaking, I said yes of course! Then we hugged, and cried together. Our families then joined us down at the picnic table with pizza + champagne! It was truly one of the most magical nights of my life. xo
