We’re getting married!

Shane and I met in 2006 in our high school English literature class. If I remember correctly, he passed me a note asking if I had the answers to the test. From that moment on we became the best of friends. We would hang out almost every day after school, meet at our favorite snowball stand and chat for hours. We even went to our senior prom together. I guess you could call us high school sweethearts but we always remained friends. As life happens, I moved away to college and he started his career in Slidell. We didn’t have much communication over that time, maybe a quick happy birthday on Facebook but that’s it. Summer 2017, I unexpectedly moved back to Slidell and Shane invited me to meet for a drink to catch up. And the rest is history!

We have birthdays two days apart and decided to plan a trip to the beautiful island of Jamaica. The first night we arrive Shane tells me we have a dinner reservation and cannot be late. We settle into our hotel and I start getting getting ready while Shane napped, nothing seemed out of the ordinary. We arrived at dinner with a few minutes to spare and I see all the cute tables lined on the beach for the “ romantic sunset dinners”. Still nothing seemed odd! I was just excited that this was our first outting in Jamaica!! I was so distracted by all the beautiful sights, I didnt even notice we had walked halfway around the resort to get to our table. We walked up to a beautiful mountain side view and I look over and written in the sand was “Will You Marry Me”!! Before I could even read it and turn around Shane was already down on one knee, a photographer snapping pictures, and people on the balconies started cheering. It all happened so fast but it was perfect!
