Both being from a very small town, Coleman, we knew of each other for a long time. We would see each other around town, had mutual friends, and even hung out a few times in groups. But, it wasn't until one night in January of 2015, that we ran into each other at the White Potato Lake fishing derby and started a real conversation. We really hit it off-- Instantly, we became best friends, and the rest was history!
This past New Year's Eve, we stayed at the Kalahari in Wisconsin Dells. While we were there, Peter took me to a very fancy steak house for dinner, and I half wondered if he would propose to me then. Well, he didn't. So the idea of a proposal that weekend left my mind. However, right at midnight, Peter had the DJ play our favorite song "Uptown Funk", and he proposed to me in the middle of the dance floor! I was completely stunned to the point that I didn't even hear him when he said, "Will you marry me?". After a few tries, I finally was able to say "YES!", but by this time, people saw what was happening and starting clapping and cheering so loudly that Peter didn't hear me say "Yes". It was a little bit of a hot mess of a proposal, but it was perfect for us, and I wouldn't have had it any other way!
