Things To Do

While the wedding isn't until evening, there are plenty of other very cool things to do around the area! Some require a little bit of a venture north while other options are nearly at the venue!

Banning State Park

Sandstone, MN 55072

Convenient spot to go hiking near the venue/hotels! Banning has a variety of different types of trails and many lead to a small waterfall.

Duluth

Duluth, MN

Day trip to Duluth before and after the wedding! From great restaurants to hiking spots with views of Superior, it's worth the extra drive north. Some of our favorite spots include: -Hartley Nature Center (easy to moderate hiking, connects to the Superior Hiking Trail) -Lake Superior Brewing (mid-century modern brewery/restaurant...the best!) -Sarah's Table (great food with an emphasis on local items, quaint atmosphere) -Canal Park (shopping & food right on the water) -Dovetail Cafe (delicious coffee/breakfast/lunch spot)

Glensheen Mansion

3300 London Road, Duluth, MN 55804

Tour the historic Glensheen Mansion whose property sits right on Lake Superior. One of the coolest tours we have been on! The mansion is just a few minutes out of downtown Duluth.

Split Rock Lighthouse

3713 Split Rock Lighthouse Road, Two Harbors, MN 55616

If you're itching to travel even further north for some history and views, Split Rock is the place to be. Very cool self-guided tour throughout the entire lighthouse and property. Small entry fee.

Russ Kendall's Smoke House

149 Scenic Drive, Knife River, MN 55609

WORTH THE DRIVE NORTH. Best hole in the wall smoked fish shack you'll find. Located about 20min from Duluth on the beautiful scenic byway. If you go here, come find us at the wedding--we'd love to hear your review!
