We love your kids and hope they can make it to Mexico with you for the weekend! However, our wedding is an adults-only affair.
Our recommendation is to drive over the border. It's no big deal to get into Mexico, but it can be a lengthy wait to get back into the U.S. For this reason, we strongly encourage all guests to apply for Global Entry/Sentri. This can also take some time, so we recommend getting started sooner than later. If you need help jumpstarting this process, reach out to us for details and tips! If you're flying in from outside of California, we suggest you fly into either Tijuana International Airport or San Diego. If you choose to travel into and out of San Diego, be mindful of this as you cross the Mexican border (as in - give yourself the right amount of time to do so!) NOTE: Travelers are NOT able to use their Global Entry status in a rental car over the Mexican border.
You can return via the general line, or purchase a medical pass within Mexico. This blog post explains what this is, and recommends a few places that sell it. https://www.bajabound.com/before/returning/borderfastpass
Yes! But, if you have Global Entry/Sentri, you will not be able to use it in a rental car. Also, you will need to inform your rental car company, and purchase Mexican Automobile Liability Insurance. We suggest confirming this availability at the time of booking your rental car to avoid any issues on the day of travel. The following companies are amenable to this service: Budget Dollar Enterprise Fox Rent a Car Hertz National Thrifty
Unfortunately not, since U.S. automobile insurance is not valid in Mexico. You can get coverage very quickly - as fast as that day! We always use this service provider: https://www.bajabound.com/info/
Whenever possible, choose the toll road (follow signs for 1-D, CUOTA)! It's safer, overall nicer, and actually speedier when it comes to arriving to where you need to go. The toll booths accept small USD dollar bills and pesos. They do not take cards, and will not make change for $50s or $100s. Be prepared with dollar bills. Ensure that you are driving safely and responsibly, providing no reason for anyone to pull you over. Travel with up-to-date, physical copies of your driver's license, insurance and proof of registration. See above note for Mexican Car Insurance.
Yes! We are planning to have at least two shuttle sites: El Cielo and Hacienda Guadalupe.
Yes! Remember to please drink responsibly.
Just look cute and be ready to disco! Know that it's the desert, and temperatures can drop in the evening. Our venue is 100% outdoors, and the vibe is rustic. Your shoes gotta be cute and easy to dust off!
Please do! Food will be served family style, so please let us know of any allergies as soon as possible.
