We're getting married!

Cassie and Noah’s beautiful journey began in June of 2021 when they went on their first double date with their two close friends. For Noah, it was love at first sight! As they spent more time together, their connection deepened. The couple bonded over enjoying Minden’s beautiful summers by the water, with Noah growing up there and Cassie spending weekends cottaging in the area. It was the perfect setting for their love to flourish. On August 13th, 2021, Noah and Cassie took a trip to Ottawa to check on Cassie’s apartment. Cassie was excited to introduce Noah to her home away from home, especially since she was starting a full-time job with the federal government that September. Their first night was spent in Cassie’s apartment, but with no air conditioning and temperatures soaring to 33°C, they booked a hotel at the Westin downtown for the following night. That night, Noah took Cassie to their favorite spot, The Keg, where he told her he loved her and asked her to be his girlfriend. In September, Cassie started her new job while Noah moved to Potsdam University to play hockey. Despite the distance, Noah made frequent trips to Ottawa to visit Cassie. Just six months later, Noah decided to move in with Cassie in her Ottawa apartment to finish his schooling. The year was full of milestones, including Cassie’s graduation from Carleton University with an honors degree in Criminology. Noah balanced full-time school with a student position at the federal government. To celebrate Cassie’s graduation and Noah’s hard work, the couple took a 12-day trip to British Columbia, exploring Vancouver, hiking in Squamish, taking a ferry to Nanaimo, and driving to Tofino. In Tofino, they hiked Cox Bay and agreed it was the most beautiful view they’d ever seen. Their memories from the trip remain some of their happiest to this day. In December 2023, Cassie and Noah moved into their first home together on the outskirts of Ottawa, which Noah loves because it reminds him of his hometown, Minden. With the help of Cassie’s parents, they’ve been renovating the house and are grateful for the support of the people around them. On July 3rd, 2024, Noah proposed to Cassie. He boated her to dinner at Heather Lodge Resort from his cottage and surprised her with a ring hidden in a slice of cake. Cassie, overwhelmed with happiness, cried tears of joy. They boated back to Noah’s cottage, which was decorated with flowers and candles, making it a memory to remember. After their engagement, Cassie and Noah began touring wedding venues and fell in love with Bloomfield’s Gardens. They adored the venue’s stunning location, surrounded by lush flowers and greenery, and especially the refurbished carousel from the Bowmanville Zoo, where Cassie had gone on day trips as a child. Their wedding journey continued with a memorable catering tasting at Bloomfield’s, making it the perfect place to celebrate their love.
