Our love story began in the most romantic place on Earth: the African Journey section of the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo, where nothing says “soulmates” quite like sweating in khakis and pretending we were world‑class zookeepers. It all started in 2013, when the new girl tried to bond over YouTube videos while we picked up sticks behind the Honey Badger building — because nothing sparks a connection like mutual confusion about why we were cleaning up after an animal that “doesn’t care” for a living. From there, we became the kind of work friends who were always laughing, grabbing lunch, and doing all the random tasks Nancy mysteriously couldn’t handle. (Bless her heart, but also… girl.) Before long, we were hanging out outside of work, collecting inside jokes, and learning each other’s quirks like two people who were definitely not “just coworkers” anymore. Somewhere between the stick‑picking, the questionable zoo assignments, and the shared trauma of animal‑related chaos, we found comfort, joy, and that suspiciously cozy feeling that maybe — just maybe — this was something more. And we were right. Since then, our story has taken us everywhere: from the zoo to Florida, back to Indiana, through the jungles of adulthood and the wilds of corporate America, and even across the globe to one of the most magical places on Earth. Through every twist, every move, every adventure, we’ve held each other’s hand and kept choosing the next chapter together. And honestly? We can’t wait to see where our story wanders next.
