Miles & Cassie officially met when they became roommates in 2010. Cassie was in between jobs & Miles wasn't exactly concerned with attending "all" of his classes. This left a lot of time to hang out, watch TV & help Miles stay alive while he played video games (you have to refuel!). They lived together almost 2 years before they began dating & by the time things were official, Cassie had all but moved into her first home in the spring of 2012.
In 2013, Miles was offered an internship that led to his current job in Nashville. While Cassie was skeptical about making a long distance relationship work, they set out to visit each other twice a month and like clockwork, this easily continued for 4 years. It was hard at first, but it made them stronger and it helped Miles learn how to communicate on the telephone without yelling into it (just because the other person is physically far away, it does not mean one should yell). He is still learning how to craft a conversation on the phone, but he normally lets Cassie chatter away until she runs out of things to tell him about.
Cassie showed Miles how fun (and expensive!) it is to travel and they went to places like Florida, Asheville, New York City, Key West, The Bahamas, Toronto, London, Paris and Amsterdam. Miles showed Cassie that sometimes a nap on the couch can also be fun (and cheap!) and she learned to appreciate not being "busy" all of the time.
Years passed, and they grew happier and happier. Cassie wondered if they'd ever get married, but Miles was like "Alexa, what's 'marriage'?". He was ready for Cassie to move to Nashville though and he even bought a house for good measure. After lots of romantic opportunities (they traveled to 5 different countries in 2017!), Miles finally popped the question in Nashville at one of the first dates he and Cassie went on after he moved there in 2013, Cheekwood Botanical Gardens and she said "yes".
