This is a semi-casual event. We want you to feel good hanging out, playing games, and navigating the campground! Please dress comfortably but remember you will be in photos. Think: your best flannels, outdoor vests, chinos, activewear dresses, maxi dresses, comfortable jumpsuits, etc. We've called our dress code "LL Bean Chic" in jest, but this may be the best way to think about it! Additionally, please choose footwear wisely - campground conditions may not be suitable for a shoe with a narrow heel. We love a good game of volleyball and will have courts set-up and ready to play. If you're competitive we welcome you to go all out and dive for a ball, but you may want to consider a sportier, versatile outfit (or a change of clothes) so you can really go for it!
As our venue does not have an official street address, we recommend navigating to the campground using the link provided on the "Schedule" page. Otherwise, type 'Meadows Group Campground' into Google Maps or other GPS device and be sure to select the location in Pine, CO! No matter which direction you're coming from, we recommend you take the 3 minute longer route to the campground via Pine Valley Rd in the Will-O-The-Wisp area of Rt 285. Unfortunately we cannot embed a link to the preferred route here in Zola, but we're happy to text or email it to you to make your travel more comfortable. The campground is fairly remote and does require a 5 mile drive down a bumpy dirt road. If you are renting a car, we recommend opting for a fuel-based car and avoiding those with low under carriages.
We will provide dinner after the reception as well as a light breakfast on Saturday morning. If you think you might be looking for a late-night snack, feel free to bring a cooler to whip something up. One late-night amenity we do plan to provide is access to the Toas-Tite (Google it!) Mel is very interested in what sorts of fun, toasted sammies you all can think up. We will also provide some beer, wine, liquor, and mixers, but we know this won't cover the fun all night. If you're trying to keep the party going, please BYOB.
As much as we would love to allow pups, we ask that you please leave them at home. We are trying to keep this event as chill as possible, and we all know that Nigel has zero chill when he's around his pup friends.
We've rented a convenience station with flush toilets, running water, and lighting! No need for headlamps or avoiding spiders in the restrooms.
We'll be hanging out at around 7,500 feet of elevation. You may feel a little winded when doing normal activities. For those with conditions such as asthma, be sure to pack your inhaler. Additionally, most grocery and drug stores sell small oxygen canisters that may help you feel more comfortable. Drinking water is imperative to a good time during your stay. CO is very dry, and you will find that you need more fluids to stay hydrated. It's also a great idea to pack lip balm and travel lotion. Most importantly, we want to make sure everyone is safe while we celebrate together. At higher elevations, alcohol has a greater impact even for those with a high tolerance. Remember: 1 drink at altitude is equivalent to 2 at sea level. If you don't plan to camp, plan to moderate.
YES! We would absolutely love for you to camp overnight with us. We'll be tent camping, but the campground also allows RVs and campervans. Links for gear rental and tips for an overnight in the mountains can be found on the "Travel" page.
We are compiling a list of attendees who would like to camp but do not have the appropriate gear. Please let us know if this is the case for you and we may be able to crowd-source some gear. Additionally, camping gear can be rented from many places in the Denver area, including the downtown REI.
