Ten or so years ago, we first met when working at the University of Houston recreation center while completing our undergraduate degrees. Maks was the building supervisor and I was a lifeguard at the pool. We became friends, attended parties together, and even went on a date once, but lost touch after finishing school. Years later we reconnected through social media we were still friends on and the spark was reignited. At this time we were states apart, I was in Florida and Maks still in Texas. We started making trips to see each other and our relationship blossomed. I made the big move back to Houston in 2023 and our love continued to grow. Here we are today, getting married and we are so excited to celebrate our love with all of you!

In October 2025, we ventured off on another vacation. This time Vancouver was on the books. We did a lot of hiking, explored the city, and went whale watching. During one of the hikes, we came to a lookout called Juniper Point. The view was incredible and we had been using a little tripod to take pictures together in all of these natural and beautiful places. There was suspicion that Maks may propose during this trip and he started to get a bit nervous. A group of 3 others come to the lookout and were lingering for some time. Maks was fiddling with the tripod and taking a very long time. I couldn’t help but think this is the moment! The group left and we stood together, sharing our love for each other and taking in the beautiful view. Our conversation then turns to Maks getting down on one knee and popping the question! Such an intimate proposal and exactly how I envisioned it. He caught the whole thing on video so we can relive again and again.
