Arizona Wilderness
Great brewery and beer patio. Saves birds and bees. In the center of Roosevelt Arts District with plenty mural-clad bars and restaurants in hopping distance. If you need more snacks, head to Churchill for the indoor/outdoor foodcourt of local businesses.
Greenwood Brewing
Lady-owned brewery, what's not to love? Delicious brews, outdoor seating. No food here, so bring slices or pies from Hot Daisy Pizza across the street. Will not disappoint.
Gracie's Tax Bar
This place is it. One of out favorite dives, housed in an old tax office. What you need to know: jukebox, fried pickles, and fernet on tap.
Thunderbird Lounge
Great back patio and mid-century vibe. Serves Montucky Cold Snacks and midwest fave O-Ke-Doke popcorn. First place we ever tried Jeppson's Malört (if you know, you know).
Little Rituals
If you're ready for a cocktail, come here. It's a hotel bar, sister bar to Bitter & Twisted down the street. The menu is art. The drinks are art. The wall of Phoenix is art. Come for the cocktails, stay for the truffle fries with peppers.
Kings Beer & Wine
Nestled in a strip between the hotels and the venue, it doesn't look like much from the outside. But get inside for so many beer and cider and wine options, like 80+ taps, and options to bring back to the hotel if needed. Also games, beverage flights, and comfy couches.
La Piñata Mexican Food Restaurant
No gimmicks or frills. Just like, really good Mexican food, good prices, and a cutie piñata painting.
Pemberton PHX
Fairly new hangout in Central Phoenix where one finds food trucks, beer trucks, cocktails, outdoor films, events, retail, ice cream, tattoos, art, etc. Lots of spaces to wander and imbibe.
POMO Pizzeria
Amazing pizza, amazing homemade pasta. Also get here for happy hour for half-price cocktails. Peroni, Negroni, Pepperoni, etc.
Bliss ReBAR
One of Pearl's fave patio bars. Get the nachos.
Berdenas
You didn't think we'd leave you without coffee recs, did you? Little out of town, but if you have the time or the wheels: great coffee and treats. Stroll around Old Town Scottsdale to people-watch or peek at art and jewelry.
Valentine
Ready for brunch or coffee or casual mid-century-modern furniture shopping? Come to Valentine. It's hot, it's fun, it has good coffee. Maybe find yourself a brass roadrunner for your bookshelf. To be honest best savory croissant ever maybe.

Kream Coffee
One of our first good coffee spots. A multi-roaster, serves the roasters your brides-to-be served together back in the PNW: Kuma, Sweet Bloom, Camber, and more. Also there is art.
Cartel Coffee Lab
Solid roaster and coffee spot, close to the hotels and Changing Hands bookstore. Not a bad way to start the morning!
Desert Botanical Garden
Come to this garden because it is beautiful. Have a stroll, see the desert flora up close. Tell us about the cacti, the birds, and butterflies you saw.
Encanto Park
Huge park in our neighborhood. Get some fresh air, walk the palm-lined paths along the stream, watch ducks. There's a golf course if you're into that. Sandwiches nearby at McGurkee's. Great green space in town.
South Mountain Park and Preserve
South Mountain is great because it's so close and there's so many trail systems. If you're not feeling a hike, cars can actually drive up the mountain where there's the historic Dobbin's Lookout built by the CCC, offering the best views of the city!
Piestewa Peak
Piestewa is also our hiking standby. A 15-20 min drive out of the city, it's easy to get to from town, with trails ranging in difficulty. The Dreamy Draw area is gorgeous with not a lot of elevation gains.
