God Gave Me You

Two Years and Counting!

Well, to save on time and an extensive backstory here's the gist... you have a young man who followed in his family's steps from Romania all the way to Georgia, to become an American citizen (no easy task). Then you have a country girl who found herself starting over in life after a difficult divorce, with two kids in tow, and a stubborn determination to make things work — no matter what! Now, how does a Romanian boy and a girl from Mobile, Alabama find each other? Let's just say, it was all Cupid. One swipe and a friendship was formed. We started growing our relationship on Sept. 7, 2019 and refuse to stop. From non-stop texting and talking, to still wanting to be together every single day, we went from friends to soulmates, organically. Forever best friends, and so much more. On Nov. 17th of that year, we gave each other labels, and realized, "yeah, there's no one else out there that gets me the way you do". We are each other's "otter-half," even down to our cheesy puns, and childlike obsession with all creatures fuzzy and cute. Including, but not limited to: otters, ducks, bunnies, kittens, and chipmunks. (It's a good thing we understand each other.) Since we began, we have had more stress and hardships than most couples do in their first ten years of marriage, but never due to each other. Life has thrown countless curveballs, striking us out time and again. BUT GOD. With every struggle, worry, stress, and heartbreak, God has not only gotten us through but grown us closer together in the process. "Hear my cry O God, attend unto my prayer; from the ends of the earth, I cry to You. When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the ROCK that is higher than I." Ps. 61: 1-2 After sunset on our 2 year anniversary, a sentimental, local park became the setting where fairy lights and waddling ducks would witness Lau's proposal. My children were there, topping off too many precious elements to count. We were each other's missing piece and now, we're in it for the LUNG-haul!
