Belle Isle Park is a 982-acre island park located in the Detroit River, right in between the U.S and Canada borders. This spot is ‘rich with history and natural beauty’, a true Detroit gem that was made into Michigan's 102nd state park in 2014.

Honest John’s is not a good bar. It’s a great bar for one reason: It’s not only a bar; it’s an experience. Honest John's is a solid spot to grab a great brunch and a drink. Pro Tip: try the Fruity Pebble French Toast with an Old Fashioned with Buffalo Trace - this is Cassie's go-to
Atwater Brewery & Tap House
Atwater Brewery brews some of our favorite beers and has something on tap for everyone. Our favorites include Dirty Blonde, which is a light and sweet wheat beer, Vanilla Java Porter, which is a dark beer with notes of vanilla and coffee and Whango, which is a crisp, light mango wheat ale. Pro Tip: Get the Bavarian Creme Vanilla Java Porter if they have it!
Motor City Brewing Works
Motor City Brewing has a great outdoor patio area where you can get arguably some of the best Brick Oven Pizzas in the Mid Town/Downtown area. They make their own beer, cider, wine and pop there, including the famous GhettoBlaster English Ale. Pro Tip: Order the Mule - this is Jo's go-to.
Detroit Shipping Company
Detroit Shipyard is a restaurant collective featuring five premium food-truck style eateries, two bars, a t-shirt pop up, a podcast studio, an art gallery, a stage and more - all housed in one unique space comprised of 21 shipping containers. Pro Tip: Get the Affogato, which is freshly made ice cream in a cup of espresso.
Detroit Institute of Bagels
DIB offers a wide variety of bagels, cream cheeses, sandwiches and smoked fish. They use only local ingredients and bake everything fresh daily. Pro Tip: You can never go wrong with a bacon, egg, & cheese bagel on their Rosemary & Olive Oil or Jalapeno Cheddar bagels.
