A So-Cal Girl and A Virginia Boy <3

Grant and I met on Facebook dating. It makes us laugh because both of us are not on social media very often. Yet here we are, and we are thankful for it. We talked for a couple weeks before we went out. Both of us had been pretty hesitant about the whole thing. I had him facetime a week into talking lol. That call lasted over two hours! It was like we had known each other for so long. It was interesting because that was the first time we had ever talked over the phone. Our first date was a little over a week later. We ended up at Lin's Asian Bristo. That first date was the sweetest. The poor waiter came up to us maybe three or four different times before we ordered. We kept talking away and not looking at the menu. We talked well over an hour before we ordered. We walked around HomeGoods after that. He knew what he was doing haha. We played a little mini basketball game, where he tried and couldn't make it in, and I walked up and of course won. :) The rest is pretty much history. We went on little trips throughout the year. Lots and lots of dates and walks around parks. Got to met each others family. God really has blessed us with every step of us being led together. Grant was pretty sneaky about the engagement. We both knew pretty early on that we wanted to be together forever, so we would have little conversations here and there. He would ask about what I would want and all of that. We had our one year anniversary coming, but I couldn't get off around the time we had hoped to go on a trip. Fast forward to December, we got all our stuff packed up to go on a trip. Grant had not said anything else about getting married or having the ring, so my brain was not in that zone, I was just excited to go try trout fishing haha. The first night of the trip, he was so persistent on getting a fire started, which looking back now I understand why. It was freezing in the mountains, so I told him we could do it later, he kept asking me to go to the other side of the fire, which took about five different times to get me over there. Finally, I get up, he walks behind me and hands me a card. I had 50 different questions about said card, like where the heck did that just come from. He answered all of them too. I laughed, and ripped it open, as I pulled the card out, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I cried of course and it was the easiest YES! We were so excited and called all of our family, who, by the way, both sets of parents knew!! Sneaky sneaky! It was the best moment. We are extremely thankful that God has brought both of us together. Without Him we would not be here. We are excited to have our lives joined together and start a new chapter!
