We met on a mobile app, Meet Me. We started talking to each other on a Sunday and met each other in person for the first time that following Wednesday. He came over to my house after his daughter, Maria, went to sleep. We lived an hour and half from each other. After he left, extremely late that night, I woke up my roommate to tell her I met the man I would marry one day.
Exactly 1 week after we started talking Cassie was invited to Michael's family Easter Sunday Dinner. That was the first time Cassie met his daughter. That same night, Michael sat on the couch and asked Cassie to be his girlfriend!
We went on a family vacation! It started with a drive to the mountains to enjoy a Camp Weekend at Cassie's childhood sleep-away camp, Nah-Jee-Wah. Then, we journeyed down to South Carolina, by car, to watch the Eclipse! The clouds were covering the sky, so we drove down the road to try and find a better view. We found a break in the clouds and quickly pulled off the highway into a parking lot where we all got out of the car to watch the eclipse. As soon as the eclipse was finished, Michael pulled out a portable blue-tooth speaker and started to sing "Now and Forever" by Richard Marx. During the instrumental, he asked Cassie to Marry him!
