We met in high school, 19 YEARS ago. We were friends and "secret" crushes during that time, but then life led us in different directions for a while. When we both moved out on our own, we quickly discovered there was an old friend living nearby. Huntington Avenue brought us back together and love came to stay.
Some of the best plans are made spontaneously. On his drive home from work, Andy decided he was going to propose that night. He came home and asked me to meet him in the living room. Anxious to get to our dinner plans, I begrudgingly obliged. The room was dark and he was standing there nervously. He grabbed my hands, took some deep breaths, and managed to say all the right things. He got down on one knee, opened the ring box and asked me to marry him, to which I responded, "I can't see the ring! The room is too dark." Realizing that wasn't the answer he was expecting, I quickly changed my response to "YES!!" Relieved, he put the ring on my finger and I ran to the kitchen (where the light was on) to see the most perfect ring.
