A lot comes to mind when we think of the year 2020, but the thing that shines through the chaos is the start of our relationship. Cassie hosted a brewery crawl in early March right before the pandemic hit, and Braden came along with his friend Luke, who was Cassie's coworker and friend. We had a simple introduction that day and within the next few weeks, we were all living in the new world of Covid. In early April, Luke texted Cassie "Can you date my friend" and suggested a double date via Zoom with Braden, Luke, and his girlfriend at the time (now wife), Alex. Cassie figured it was worth a shot since there wasn't much else going on. She immediately loved Braden's cackle and could see that he was someone special. Zoom dates turned into in-person dates and by mid-May, we were officially a couple. The relationship became long-distance just a few months later when Braden moved to Philadelphia for a new role. Ahead of the move, Braden told Luke he would be giving it "110% effort" as he knew Cassie was the one. Luckily, Cassie was able to work remotely and spend time in Philly often, which usually included things we both enjoy: good food and drinks, museums, and exploring the city. A lot of our time together was also spent traveling to other places like Houston (shoutout to our H-town hosts, Dev & Kenz!), both of our hometowns, and of course, spending time in Cleveland. The travels didn't end there! Over the next few years, Braden moved for work again from Philadelphia to Columbus (no more PA turnpike tolls, yay!) before we finally moved in together just outside of Cleveland. During this time, we somehow also squeezed in trips to Toronto, San Diego, Hilton Head, Italy, and Denver, just to name a few. We also adopted our cuddly cheagle, Bertie! She has added so much love to our lives and will be in attendance at the wedding, of course. The proposal happened on March 1st, 2025 outside of The Cleveland Museum of Art. Braden did a good job (maybe too good) of convincing Cassie that it wouldn't happen for a little while still, so it was a complete surprise when he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Once Cassie processed what was happening, she said "Yes!" We took it in privately while walking through the art museum and then met friends and family at a brewery to celebrate. We're so excited to enter this next chapter of our lives and hope to have you join us on June 13th, 2026!
