In the 7th grade, we both attended Lakepointe's youth group. While never officially meeting, we both remembered each other in specific ways. Cassidy remembered Sean because of his gymnastic shirt and hyperactive personality, and Sean remembered Cassidy by her smile and name. Cassidy moved away and we did not see each other again until September 2023. Cassidy's mom begged her for years to partake in a bible study program called BSF. She refused until the first year her mom did not ask her to do it. She "just so happened" to land in the same group as a woman named Erin Denny. For a year they met and studied the Bible online. After a summer study, the group went to a cabin to talk through the book and spend the weekend together. Cassidy and Erin, once again... "just so happened" to ride in the same car to the cabin and got to talking about Cassidy's life and and that of Erin's son... Sean. Sean lived in New York which posed a complication to us starting a relationship. After the weekend, Cassidy decided to reach out to Sean and at least introduce herself because of their similar interest and desires to study the Bible. After 2 months of us talking on the phone, and each of us not knowing what the other really looked like, Sean was finally coming to Texas from New York. At this point we both already knew we were definitely interested - before ever meeting in person - so we decided to go ahead and plan for Sean to meet Cassidy's family, and Cassidy would meet some of Sean's extended family. The weekend went great and Sean asked Cassidy to be his girlfriend. She said yes. We've joined each other since in pursing God, pursuing each other, and pursuing marriage with each other. Sean completely surprised Cassidy when he came into town two weeks earlier than she thought. He met with her dad and asked him for her hand in marriage. He got Cassidy's mentor to bring her back to the pier, where we originally first saw each other 10 years prior, and that is where he asked her to marry him and to pursue each other for the rest of our lives. We love you and would love for you to come join us in celebrating our coming together as one!
