Meeting on our bikes in May 2020 was just a coincidence. Who knew the first "Hello" to the "bike ride guy" would turn into "I Do". Starting to date in the midst of Covid with mask restrictions, quarantines and suspicious roommates was interesting to say the least. Riding bikes, swimming in the Minnehaha Creek and hiking the Minnesota State Parks was how we made the best of it & got to know each other that summer. After 4 years of living in our Minneapolis condo, we'd experienced a lot of adventures together! Camping every summer on river canoe trips and in the Boundary Waters, a 3-week long road trip out west, and plenty of concerts. On our 4 year anniversary we set off on a leisurely bike ride down the Minnehaha Bike Trail. Reminiscing all the way about how much fun we've had together and how unbelievable it is that we met each other just right on this bike trail! Stopping at our favorite swimming hole, Patrick kneeled down and popped the big question! Of course I said yes and promptly shouted at the kayakers who were paddling past, "we just got engaged!!" 6 years after we met we own a home together, we continue our adventures in our canoe and our tent, and we finally have our perfect doggie companion, Winnie, to explore with us!
