Cassidy was convinced to go to Bobby's Monkey Bar (surprise, a karaoke bar!) with fellow actors and now lifelong friends - Jessica, Jeremy, and Cody after rehearsal for The Pickpockets Daughter - aka the entire reason why Cassidy ended up in Key West in the first place. After singing a tipsy rendition of Summer Nights Cassidy saw Mathias come in the back (or some stories say Mathias saw Cassidy on stage before she noticed him) Mathias decided to say hello to the actors he knew well (not having met Cassidy but thinking she was "out of his league anyway") To no one's surprise who knows Cassidy when she is interested in someone, she went right up to Mathias introducing herself with Mathias reciprocating and they (very annoyingly and somehow already in love) repeated each other's names back and forth 3-4+ times. Mathias went to the corner of the bar (now known as Cassidy's spot) and Cassidy went over to her friends asking if this man was trustworthy - to which they all responded 'GO RIGHT NOW." Cassidy went over to Mathias to lay down the flirtatious vibes - Mathias eventually said "I kinda wanna make out with you right now?" to which Cassidy responded with "Maybe a little one." Next Cassidy realized it was time for her to go home and asked her friends if it was safe to walk her the few blocks back to her bungalow. Jess leaped over Cassidy to say "WALK HER HOME RIGHT NOW." As Mathias and Cassidy got maybe 2 blocks outside of Bobby's, a cop car speeds by, screeches his breaks, and two officers pop out, GUNS DRAWN AT CASSIDY AND MATHIAS screaming "ON THE GROUND, ON THE GROUND NOW!!!" To which Mathias complied and Cassidy said "wait, me too?" to which both cops and Mathias said "...Yes..." Mathias asks what is going on and the first cop yells "YOU MATCH THE DESCRIPTION OF A COUPLE WHO JUST VIOLATED A GOVENERMENT BUILDING - MAN IN BLACK PANTS AND BLACK SHIRT WOMAN IN WHITE SHORTS AND BLACK SHIRT." Cassidy whispers to Mathias "...but my shorts are purple..." The first cop, still with guns on us, yells into his radio "WE HAVE THE PERPETRATORS." Mathias now completely relaxed knowing we did nothing wrong, Cassidy questioning who in the heck her friends let her walk home with?!?! THEN out of NOWHERE, Vin Diesel shows up with his gun drawn on us too! (Okay, it wasn't really Vin Diesel but this guy could definitely be his stunt double) The first cop says to Vin Diesel "IS THIS THEM?!?!?" To which Vin Diesel screams 'NO!!!!" and runs right back to his car. The first two cops lower their guns and immediately change their tune by saying "So sorry to trouble you folks, thank you for complying. Have a good night." Mathias immediately stands up and laughs while Cassidy sits on the corner in front of the Garden Hotel almost in tears and extremely shaken up. Mathias helps her to her feet, they walk hand in hand home to her bungalow, and like a gentleman, he gives Cassidy a kiss where he swept her off her feet. That night, Mathias added Cassidy on Facebook - Cassidy didn't accept until the next morning only due to immediately falling asleep. After Cassidy accepted his invite, Mathias threw his hands in the air saying "YES!" and the rest? Most of you have been along for the ride. We are so grateful you're here.
