Things To Do

If you're one of our many family and friends who are traveling from outside the Lehigh Valley, we've got a whole host of recommendations for what you can do while you're not watching us say "I do!"

Owowcow Creamery

4105 Durham Road, Ottsville, PA 18942
, 610.847.7070

This is our favorite ice cream place in the entire world and we are fully convinced that no one does it better than them. Many of their flavors are so unique that you will never find them anywhere else, which may be a bit of a bummer because you'll never be able to forget how good they were. Cassidy's favorite flavors are honey lavender and rosewater cardamom. She recommends that you skip the sweet corn flavor if they have it. (It was pretty good, just an unsettling mouth feel.) Kady vehemently disagrees with the notion that the sweet corn flavor should be skipped. It is delicious and it would be a crime not to at least try it. Owowcow's vegan flavors are all incredible as well.

Braveheart Highland Pub

430 Main Street, Hellertown, PA 18055

This Scottish pub is where we went on our very first official date. At the time, Cassidy was still vegetarian and she says that while there very few non-meat options, their salad menu alone would surprisingly be worth the trip. Now that she's no longer vegetarian, she recommends it even more! If you're around on a Tuesday, our wedding DJ (and one of Kady's favorite High School teachers) Rob Reilly will likely be hosting a super fun trivia night. Stop in for awesome food and even better entertainment.

Billy's Downtown Diner

10 East Broad Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018

We're sure you're starting to notice a trend of food-related entries. One of our primary love languages has always been food, whether it be preparing food for one another, working on meals together, or going out to eat together. Billy's has been one of our favorite places for a long time. We especially recommend the eggs benedict! Kady specifically recommends the Billy Kristo and Papas Rancheros. (Billy's also has a second smaller location in Easton that is just as good as the main one in Bethlehem.)

Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom

4000 Dorney Park Road, Allentown, PA 18104

Cassidy says that the optimum thrill ride route is Talon -> Wild Mouse -> Hydra -> Enterprise -> Dominator (both sides) -> Possessed -> Scrambler -> Revolution -> Steel Force and to avoid Thunderhawk because she's pretty sure it almost gave her a concussion and definitely gave her several bruises. Kady says that her wife is a thrill seeking maniac and that she'll pray for your safety.

Jumbars

1342 Chelsea Avenue, Bethlehem, PA 18018
, (610) 866-1660

While it is a bit difficult to grab a seat at Jumbars due to their 2pm closing time, this tiny cafe has some of the best breakfast and brunch fare that we've ever had! Their scones, duffins (donut muffins!), and cinnamon rolls are all to die for and the staff are all incredibly friendly.

Main Street Bethlehem

Main Street, Bethlehem, PA

If you'd like to walk around and enjoy a variety of beautiful and varied shops, main street in Bethlehem is perfect! We'd particularly recommend checking out The Joint Coffee Co. behind the Sun Inn, then walking out onto the main street proper and hitting up The Attic (an adorable, well-stocked thrift shop) and Grandpa Joe's Candy Shop. There's way more to see than just those three, but those are definitely our favorites!
