Jordan and Cassidy first met one night at a church activity. While Jordan was trying to avoid talking to his ex girlfriend, Cass made a snarky comment about not dating in the ward. One Sunday a few weeks later, Cass was talking to another friend in the ward who was helping her out with something. When he finished helping her he asked her if there was anything else that he could do for her. She replied, "You could make me some cookies!" To which Jordan interrupted and said to Cass, "If you're making cookies, count me in!" Cass and Jordan sassed each other for a bit about who would actually be making the cookies and then went their separate ways. Later that day Jordan texted Cass and asked her when she would be making him cookies and started the debate again on who would actually be making the cookies. They finally eventually decided on making the cookies together that evening. Cass went to Jordan's house and they made cookies together that evening and stayed up talking until the late hours of the night.
Last year, Cass took Jordan on a surprise picnic up Provo canyon to a spot that overlooked Rock Canyon. It was a gorgeous view so the two of them had been wanting to go back to take a picture ever since. Due to weather, the road to the lookout was closed over the winter, which prevented them from going back until the spring. Jordan told Cass that he found out the road to the overlook had recently opened and that he wanted to go try and get the picture that they had been planning. The drive up was beautiful and there was plenty of greenery to look at as we drove. They got to the spot just as the sun was setting. Jordan started setting up the tripod and Cass started to look around. Wanting to prevent her from noticing their friends and Jordan's sister waiting to take pictures in the bushes, Jordan pulled the ring out of his camera bag, said, "Actually...," and got down on one knee and asked Cass to marry him.
