I wish "we met in the emergency department" had an exciting back story but, unfortunately for all you readers, it just doesn't. Cassidy had just graduated college and was working full time at the hospital, while Conner was working as a PCT down in the emergency department. They both spent many busy days running around the ER which lead to the more than occasional bump in and casual smile. Cass remembers thinking one recurrent thought when it came to Conner... "He's tall. Nice." Conner, however, had a less than positive thought running through his mind... "She looks mean." Well, that's the nice way to put it at least. Needless to say, the two did not spark any sort of real connection for those first couple of years, until the end of April 2021 when Conner decided to reach out and ask Cass on a date. A date that Cass ended up planning after asking what he had in mind and getting an "I don't know, what do you want to do?" response. I guess that date went pretty well because two years later, Cass is planning a wedding. This time around, however, she isn't asking Conner for his input.

Conner and Cass knew early on that they found their one. They regularly talked about their future as if it were happening tomorrow and had no fear about what was to come. They both were excited to start their lives together which lead to Conner booking an appointment with a local jeweler and texting Cass "we are going ring shopping." They designed the ring together and the rest was in Conner's hands. On July 25, 2022, Cass and Conner were on vacation in Florida when he asked the big question. "Are you almost ready, yet?" Conner's typical impatience was much worse knowing a photographer was waiting on the beach for the two of them and Cass was taking her sweet time getting ready per usual. Under the assumption that they were only having a cute beach picnic, she was in no rush. (Or possibly because she had a hunch, she wanted to make sure she looked picture perfect.) Eventually the two made their way to the beach where Conner dropped to his knee and asked the REAL big question. "Will you marry me?" Spoiler Alert: She said Yes.
