We were introduced by our good friend Elliott (our officiant) more than 10 years ago. We hit it off but we were young and Cole thought he was too cool for me and we went our separate ways. Summer of 2018, I moved back to San Diego after having relocated to Minneapolis for my job. Cole and I ran into each other on dog beach with our pups; he recogized me, and we caught up for a bit. He insists I was incessantly telling him how single I was; I insist I was playing it totally cool. When we planned to go out, I wrapped up our conversation with “I can’t wait,” & he said back, “Well if you can’t wait, I’m free tonight” & the rest was history.
Viva la Cabo! We planned a vacation with our good friends Jovi & Sam to go to Cabo in October for an early birthday celebration. I didn’t know it but Cole had actually asked both my dads Jim and Frank if he had their blessing. He told Jovi and Sam he wanted to ask after the beautiful dinner we ate at an incredible farm-to-table restaurant in Cabo called Flora Farms. I had dreamed of going there for many years and it was perfect. They staged a picture of us, and Cole got down on one knee. I cried tears of happiness immediately and said YES! There was a large party nearby who caught what was happening and cheered as we headed out.
