Flight

Richmond International Airport

The Richmond International Airport (RIC) is located about 7 miles southeast of downtown Richmond. Being the busiest airport in Central Virginia there are a variety of flight options, with the top 10 domestic routes being: Atlanta, Charlotte, Boston, Chicago O’Hare, Dallas Fort Worth, New York-La Guardia, Philadelphia, Newark, Orlando and Detroit. Depending on traffic and where you choose to stay, it should be a 20-30 minute drive between the airport and where we will be celebrating.

Train

Main Street Station

Richmond Main Street Station (RVM) is a historic railroad station and office building, served by Amtrak. Located in Shockhoe Bottom, a popular area just east of downtown Richmond that runs along the James River, the Renaissance Revival style station opened in 1901 to serve the Seaboard Air Line and C&O railroads. Its ornate, domed clock tower is a city landmark. It is conveniently located 5 minutes away from The Jefferson Hotel in the heart of the city.

Train

Staples Mill Road Station

Staples Mill Road Station (RVR) is another major rail hub option serviced by Amtrak, located about 10 miles north of downtown Richmond in Henrico County. Some trains that serve the Staples Mill Road station do not stop at the downtown Main Street Richmond station, but it is a popular choice as it is not far from U of R's campus.
