Our Story

of that Fateful Night // Cass's edition

Cassidy was about to go thrift store shopping with her friends. Suddenly, craving a pretzel, Cassidy and her friends stopped by a Biergarten on the way. They got a drink and a pretzel, when at a perfect intersection of time, some *boys* walked by, smiling. Cassidy noticed one of them (the cute one) look away embarrassed. The other one approached her, bumping into her, and sloppily attempting to make conversation. Deeply uninterested, Cassidy glanced to her friends for help. The cute boy noticed and intervened, making jokes to separate the unwanted attention. At ease, Cassidy and her friends decided, well, why not go to a club with these strange boys we just met. It was there, at the Wild Cat, that Cassidy and the cute boy were drawn magnetically to each other and danced the night away, and the rest is history. Spoiler alert, the cute boy is Erik and now they are engaged to be married on October 25, 2024!

Santa Barbara Love: A Story of Beaches and Beer

Erik's Edition

In the post-covid era of Summer nights out, the crew and I were intent on enjoying our typical set of Bavarian liquid courage steins at the new Santa Barbara watering hole, Biergarten. While walking up and searching for a table, my eyes came upon a curious Cass gazing at the stars....only to find out later that she was simply admiring the full moon as she always does. But the moment was fleeting, the late afternoon turned to evening and continued as a guys night out. This soon changed when Bolivar (a friend of a friend) had decided it was time to press his luck with a group of ladies. Having witnessed the level of "courage" Bolivar had built up, I thought best to accompany him on his journey if not as a "good" wingman but as a responsible chaperone...who too had his lion share of schwarzbier. Bolivar, a true character, confidently interjected himself into Cass' table of friends. They were truly not prepared for a pair of strangers to stumble into their evening plans however unlikely, they kindly played along. As conversation flowed and slurred on, our friend groups merged. Our steins emptied and an inflection point came of the night where our groups split off only to meet up again at the Santa Barbara Wild Cat. The Shitty Kitty is notorious for its red velvet decor, dim lights, and uncanny ambience that makes anyone a good dancer. It was here where a middle school style dance circle ignited a spark. Our spark has since kindled into a family of 3 dogs with fond memories of hikes, national parks, camping and beach days. We are so excited for this next step in our journey together and looking forward to celebrating with each and every one of our loved ones.
