I first saw Zach on Hinge and matched with him by trying to make a witty comment. It didn't work that well for me because it took him weeks to respond, I honestly had forgotten that I had liked his profile when we first started talking. After a few days, we went on our first date to Philly Tavern in Olde Town Manassas where unbeknownst to me, Zach spent his last $5 buying me a burger. I couldn't wait to hang out with him again after our first date. After a few weeks and more dates, we became an official couple. I knew within the first month that there was something special here and told one of my friends "I think I might marry him one day". The honeymoon phase of our relationship ended a few months later when COVID shut the world down, we adopted a puppy, and then found out that I was pregnant. Our relationship moved a lot quicker after that and when Ben was born in November our family felt more complete. We talked about getting married in 2022 but didn't really have any further plans. Fast forward a few more months to March and I had been casually sending slipping Zach hints about wanting an engagement ring by nonstop sending him pictures of rings that I liked. (Okay, so maybe not very subtle or casual). Zach went and bought a ring and made a big deal of telling me that he hadn't. He even had his mom telling me that he hadn't even though they both knew that he had. On March 21st, we were laying in bed and Zach brought up the ring again (he liked to tease me about it) and told me again that he had one which I did not believe. He told me he was going to propose right now to which I responded that he was full of it because there was no ring yet. (He literally had me go through his sock drawer earlier in the week, where the ring was hidden, and somehow I didn't find it). He said again that he was going to do it and I again replied okay fine. He got up out of bed and I realized that he was serious and my heart started pounding. He went to his sock drawer, pulled out the ring and while holding it behind his back told me I needed to change because "I can't propose to you while you are wearing my shirt". I changed my shirt, he got down on one knee (in his boxers) and while I can't remember exactly what he said after that, I know it was heartfelt and I gave the easiest yes I have ever given in my life. July 3rd can't come soon enough! -Cassandra
