In 2018, because of Cassie's bold nature, she was able to stalk the interwebs and find Wallid. Even though the stalking was a success, they soon learned that they were living in different continents. Frankly, that wasn't going to work. Fast forward to 2021 when Wallid was visiting San Diego for work and Cassie had just moved there. Wallid took the initiative and messaged Cassie with a romantic gesture of, "WYA." Cassie was struck by this fate and agreed to meet Wallid in person for the first time. COVID protocols were still in place during this meet. So, Wallid walked out of the bar he told Cassie to meet him at and met her line. Even with masks on, as soon as their eyes met, they knew. From that moment on, there was no one else and they continue to build their lives together to this day.

What started as a typical evening out for dinner with a friend, soon turned into an Oscar worthy performance (shoutout to Kaiti). Cassie believed she was helping her friend obtain a 6ft mirror that was bought off of Facebook Marketplace; a very realistic situation. As Cassie approached the back of this house in search of a 6ft mirror, she instead found a 6ft man standing with a bouquet of roses. Cassie was in utter shock. Wallid then took her by the hand and led her down this candle, rose petal covered path. They stopped under a gazebo with twinkle lights where Wallid got on one knee and asked Cassie. She of course said yes...but wait, there's more. Wallid told Cassie, "I have one more surprise for you." At that moment, Cassie's mom jumped out from behind a palm tree and they both ugly cried (Her mom, Stefanie, had just drove 2 days straight from PA to CA due to last minute flight cancellations because of the Southwest computer crash). As if that wasn't enough surprises, Wallid's family then jumped out of the house (which turned out to be an Airbnb that Wallid rented) with the biggest excitement and open arms. In addition, Wallid's family had prepared a BOMB home cooked dinner in celebration and a perfect ending to a perfect day.
