La Cola de Caballo is a well known Monterrey tourist attraction. It is an easy hike up to a large waterfall. On the way up there is plenty of shops and restaurants/snack trucks to explore. Once you're in the parking lot, if you walk over towards the hotel on the opposite side, there is a viewpoint that shows an amazing view of the mountains.
Los Cavazos is a strip of traditional antique Mexican shops. It is filled with Mexican artisan made souvenirs. It also filled with all the best food - Mexican street corn, papa asada, gorditas and sweets, ice cream/shaved ice, etc - a must visit in Monterrey.
Los Ojos de Santa Lucia is a huge tourist attraction in Monterrey. It is a man made canal in the center of the city. Tourists can choose to walk along the canal or take a ferry to the other side, where they can choose to get out and explore the Marco Plaza. There is always some sort of food/snack trucks or Mexican artisans around.
Barrio Anitguo is a strip of bars and restaurants in the center of Monterrey. If you travel here in the day time - enjoy a street full of colorful buildings. A very popular area for day/drinking and/or restaurants. Super fun to get dropped off and walk around this area.
