Anthony and I met on an online dating site and met for the first time on a Thursday evening date. He picked me up, took me to Spaghetti Works in Downtown Des Moines, where the conversation flowed all evening! After dinner we took a stroll down the road to Royal Mile where we had a few drinks. We were so lost in conversation, I tried to hide the fact that I was slowly getting sick during our date and had to keep excusing myself to blow my nose 😅 After a good few hours of getting to know each other Anthony took me home, kissed me goodnight on the doorstep and left. I died of sickness for 3 days after 🤣
Right after our first date, the world shut down. There were no restaurants to go to, everyone was in masks and dating someone was all new territory! We spent several months having dates on our couches in one another’s homes getting to know each other on such a private and intimate level. By the time our friends were introduced, we knew this was something special ❤️ And then I meet Anthony’s family during a funeral so that’s was awkward 🤷🏼♀️
Friends and family have been introduced and accepting with warm hugs and lots of love ❤️ it was clear we were perfect for each other 😉 moving in felt so simple, and terrifying and unexpected and WOW! We did it! We combined our lives and somehow made it work and began to build our lives together in our beautiful new place
We were always talking about our lives and what we wanted. We were not in this for games. We wanted a family! So we took the steps to get pregnant thinking it would take a while…. Nope 3 months later we’re sitting Anthony’s mom and sister down at Mullets to tell them they were going to be a grandma and aunt for the first time! After a very rough pregnancy and a slightly early delivery, our beautiful baby BOY was born. Welcome home Alonzo James! We love you so much ❤️
We were sitting comfy in our living room, watching Elvis (the movie). All evening the conversation was wedding related because we were in a friend’s wedding and were discussing details. We were specifically talking about how you don’t need a ring and a big fancy proposal. Well cut to the end of the movie where Elvis proposes to Priscilla on stage without a ring and of course this set off an alarm in Anthony’s head. Out of nowhere he gets down on one knee and asks for my hand in marriage! And that’s how are now here today!!
