So that's how it happened!

When Cass met Vass...

It was May 5th, 2014. Cinco de Mayo! One of Cassie’s favorite “holidays”. Cassie had been living in New York City for two years. Walking home after brunch with friends on May 5th she was still thinking about winter, and wondering why the hell she moved to New York City. The palm trees and sandy beaches of Fort Lauderdale, the place she grew up, seemed like a distant dream. Little did she know, that night she’d meet a guy who would convince her to move about 400 miles further north... Andrew was in his second tour of duty in New York City, begrudgingly working in banking again - missing start up life in Boston. Somehow, he had that Saturday off from work, and decided to have a Kentucky Derby party. He of course lost all his bets on the horses that day. What he didn’t know was that a few hours later, he was about to pick a winner. Around midnight on May 5th, give or take a few hours - depending who you ask - Cassie and Andrew literally bumped into each other at Spitzer's - a bar on the Lower East Side. It was a horrifically awkward encounter in true Cassie and Andrew fashion. A few drinks and a game of hide and go seek at the bar led to two dates that week . Andrew did a masterful job of hiding his borderline mentally ill obsession for Tom Brady and the Red Sox. Cass played the part of a mysterious, slightly older (by 6 months) New York City woman. That intrigued Andrew. Her love for education, the ocean, ice cream and pizza were also quite convincing. It wasn’t long until they were spending the summer together. Cassie and Andrew have spent the last four plus years together in New York City and Boston. They love their time on the water in Rockport and making frequent trips to Fort Lauderdale, the Jersey Shore and Long Island. Cass still doesn't know what a first down is, but Andrew is OK with that now. They can't wait to get married and start their life together!
