Our journey, as anyone would expect, has been an unorthodox one. We met in the fall of 2018 when we both joined the scare team at 13th Floor Haunted House. Coyote was already a member of tech and was busy with build season when Casper attended a workshop to improve their skills as an actor. We instantly connected, bonding over the fact that we had both recently moved to Chicago and our love for our very fluffy cats Artemis and Sweaters (clearly our naming conventions were a little different). We spent a season pining for one another, as all good lesbians do, however, our story involved a lot more terror than the typical love story. Instead of coffee dates, we spent our time scaring the pants off others. We grew a mutual respect for one another, watching in action the passion and dedication we shared for our careers. After our first season, Casper plucked up the courage to ask Coyote out. Thus began our adventure which has been anything but boring. With our shared love of ghost hunting, hiking, and story writing. We spent countless hours purposely getting lost in the woods while we increased our oddity collection and built worlds together. During quarantine, we decided to start living together and combine our households. Now was time for the very fluffy cats to meet. Artemis and Sweaters weren’t sure about each other at first but have grown to tolerate one another. As time and adventures progressed, it became clear that we wanted to spend our lives together. So in the summer of 2022, Casper got two rings. They were family heirlooms passed down from their mother. Casper took Coyote out to their favorite place to get lost and somewhere deep in the woods, away from the bustle of the world, they got down on one knee. They barely got the words “Coyote, I love you so much-” before they started crying. This resulted in Coyote ultimately asking the question as Casper was crying too hard to speak. Now we live together in our cozy apartment in Oak Park. Artemis and Sweaters still don’t love having a sister but love us enough to tolerate each other, and that’s enough. We still spend our days getting lost, hunting ghosts, and building worlds together. Now we’re ready to start the greatest adventure and we invite you to join us on this first new chapter of our journey. Let the quest begin!
