Great question! We are opting for a courthouse wedding in order to have a more private experience, and save on wedding costs.
It is a garden party- so think nice sundresses and collared shirts, khakis and skirts- you can find inspo on Pinterest! You can never go wrong with bright colors and fun jewelry! No jeans or t-shirts. Keep in mind that it will be spring in Colorado and the weather can change from minute to minute. The Lodge is in the woods near the top of the mountain, with a gravel parking lot.
Another great question! Since the reception is in late May, we are hoping for no rain, but it is a possibility. The Lodge has indoor and outdoor options, so if it starts to rain, we will just move inside! We should be safe from snow and hail, or anything that would impact the reception. However, if inclement weather would prevent you from safely reaching the venue, you will receive a message via with backup plans.
Sunscreen, sunglasses, and your sunny personality! Seriously though, bring your sunscreen and sunglasses. We are closer to the sun here, and you will notice a difference! Please note that traveling from a lower elevation will affect everyone in different ways. Bring some ibuprofen and a refillable water bottle- you may have a headache for your first day or two here. Hydration can really help with acclimating! If you are bringing toiletries or snacks, please open them carefully! If you bring anything that is pressurized or sealed tightly (such as hairspray, perfume, or even body wash), make sure to open it slowly and away from your body and face upon first use in CO. -sincerely, someone who completely soaked her face with setting spray before a night out after a trip to sea level
We wanted to make travel as simple as possible for those coming from other states, while still giving you that coveted Colorado experience for however long you are visiting. Anywhere you go in Golden, you can see the mountains and enjoy the fresh, country air. You can get a..very different experience in Denver. Golden is a cute town outside of Denver, approximately 30 minutes from the Denver International Airport. We figured that everyone would enjoy staying in Golden over Denver as it is a more walkable community with a lot of things to do!
Both of these are great options! There are many car rental opportunities directly at DEN or you can easily Uber to a rental place. Driving your own car out here is not a bad idea either. When we drove here from western PA, we drove through Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, and Nebraska over the span of 3 days. I have had friends do it in one (awful) straight-through drive. Check out www.roadtrippers.com for ideas on where to stop!
Those invited will be listed on your envelope and when you enter your name to RSVP on the website (you can RSVP for your whole party!). Otherwise, if you have a plus one, they will be listed as "Guest."
That is okay- we are here to answer them! Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
