Where to Play

Who says small town Missouri can't have any fun? Here are some of our favorite places to explore, eat, drink, and enjoy! The below suggestions are mainly located in three different cities: Charleston (close to the church), Sikeston (close to one of our suggested hotels) and Cape Girardeau (close to our reception venue). With deep roots in this part of Missouri, the Hulshof family has the privilege of knowing many of the business owners and can attest to the quality and character of these locations! Wherever you choose to explore; have fun!

The Brew Jay

207 South Main Street, Charleston, MO 63834
, (573) 233-8099

A cozy local coffee shop close to St. Henry's. Puzzles, games, and syrup flavors galore! Tell them the Hulshof's say hi, if you visit!

The Scoop Ice Cream Shoppe

104 South Main Street, Charleston, MO 63834
, (573) 233-8177

Right around the corner from St. Henry's! A vibrant and cute locally owned shop! If you pop in for a scoop, tell them the Hulshof's sent you!

Dexter Bar-B-Q

124 North Main Street, Sikeston, MO 63801
, (573) 471-6676

This has been a mainstay restaurant of the Hulshof Clan for years (and their dog may or may not be named after this joint). This is a highly recommended destination for anyone looking for a good Midwest BBQ meal while staying in the Sikeston area!

The Ground-A-Bout Sikeston

114 East Front Street, Sikeston, MO 63801

A cute coffee shop in downtown Sikeston near the historic train station! A truly wonderful place to relax and savor a coffee with friends!

Lambert's Cafe

2305 East Malone Avenue, Miner, MO 63801
, (573) 471-4261

This is one for those looking for a more rowdy adventure. Lambert's is world famous for its tradition of throwed rolls! If you walk into this cafe, expect to have the bread rolls (along with fried okra or any number of other yummy foods) thrown right at you!

Carson's

104 East Front Street, Sikeston, MO 63801

The father and mother of the bride come here frequently for date night! The chef at Carson's is catering the reception—but you can't eat here too many times!

Top of the Marq

338 Broadway Street, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701
, (573) 334-6277

An old hotel-turned rooftop restaurant and bar! Enjoy great company while watching the vibrancy of old downtown Cape Girardeau, while the Mississippi rolls on by.

Susie's Bake Shop & Restaurant

112 East Center Street, Sikeston, MO 63801

Can't decide between a sweet treat and a hearty lunch and want an adorable place to visit? Look no further than Susie's! They close in the afternoon, but it's worth getting up earlier for!

The River Walk in Cape Girardeau, MO

A beautiful scenic stroll in Cape Girardeau, walking along the waters of the great Mississippi! Shops, restaurants, and murals line the walk!

For all the days along the way
