The wedding is on Saturday, June 1. We recommend people arrive a day or two before the wedding, but feel free to arrive as early and depart as late as you want. There's so much to explore in Sayulita!
You will fly into Puerto Vallarta (PVR) and shuttle from PVR to Sayulita. It's about a 50 minute car ride, and most of the shuttles will offer to stop at the grocery store on the way in. There are many reliable shuttle services - you will need to book this ahead of time. See the Resources section (below) for more information. We do not recommend renting a car unless that is your strong preference.
Sayulita is very walkable. Villa del Oso is on the quiet northeast end of the town and it only takes about 15-20 minutes to walk to the heart of town, and about 40 minutes to walk to the far west side of town. If you prefer, there are many companies that you can rent golf carts from to get around town. See the Resources section for more information.
There are a ton of great lodging options in Sayulita. If you are most comfortable in a condo or house then we would recommend starting with Airbnb or VRBO. There are also great hotels and hostels all over town. The northern side (where the wedding venue is located) is a bit more quiet and relaxed, whereas central Sayulita is more lively and vibrant.
No it is not. You should only drink bottled water, your lodging will likely offer 5 gallon dispensers that you can fill up your reusable water bottles with, but it might also be a good idea to pick up a jug of water on your way into town.
There is an Intercam Bank at the entrance of Sayulita, and many ATMs. They charge a hefty fee, and sometimes run out of money. If you use an ATM in Sayulita, only use ones that are INSIDE a business. We recommend withdrawing Mexican pesos at the ATM machines in the airport or at the Mega (grocery store).
There are a ton of great resources online, here are a few links to get you started. We can't wait to see you! Sayulita Life - a great resource for all things Sayulita: https://www.sayulitalife.com/ Shuttle options from PVR - Sayulita VIP and Sayulita Suburban are great options - it's about $150-180 round trip for a private Suburban and they have beer and water for you. They will be waiting at the airport with a sign and will schedule your return based on your flight info. Ask them to stop at the Mega, it’s a Mexican grocery/Super Target/Walmart. If you want you can stock up on basic foods to have around the house, liquor, sunblock etc. They won’t charge you extra to stop which is nice. There are small mercatos in town but it’s nice to stop and get everything you may need there.
