How We Met

February 20, 2021

We were high school classmates back in 2007, but our love story doesn't start there. We knew of each other, but we ran in different circles so we never connected back then. Fast forward nine years later to 2016, we ran into each other at an outdoor workout class. We were actually running opposite of each other, and we both happened to look up at the same time and saw one another. We both did a double take at first, because it had been so long since we had seen each other. By the end of the class, neither one of us had mustered up the courage to talk to the other. We were both just giving that awkward "I think I know you” stare. Later on that night, I went on social media, and low and behold, there was a message from Tim. We chatted a bit and decided to meet up for drinks. After that night, we were basically inseparable, and here we are almost four years later, engaged and ready to start our future together.

The Proposal

March 8, 2020 is the day that completely changed our lives. I woke up thinking it was going to be a regular Sunday, but unbeknownst to me, Tim had a different idea. We started our morning as we usually do on the weekends...we woke up, had some coffee, and took our dog, Circa, for a walk. Tim has been getting into photography and had ordered a bunch of new equipment he wanted to try out. He asked if Circa and I would want to take some pictures with his new "toys" at his parents‘ farm. In my mind, I figured “why not? We can get some cute family photos of the three of us to hang in our new house.” We drove out to the farm, and Tim started setting up all his equipment. He told me he wanted to start shooting in the pear orchard and to just start walking down one of the rows, he and Circa would catch up. I asked, ”What are you doing?” He said he needed to focus his equipment and that he had a cute outfit for Circa to wear for the photos. I started walking, and Circa caught up to me, wearing a new bandana that said "Will you marry my dad?" I read it, turned around, and Tim was there on one knee. He said, "Will you marry me?" I could not believe what was happening. I just remember saying, “Are you joking?" and then started crying. I noticed his hand was shaking, and he stood up and said, "Is that a yes?” I was so surprised and nodded my head saying "Of course it’s a YES!” We then took some pictures, went home, and popped a bottle of champagne to celebrate. That day was one of the most surreal and unforgettable moments of my life, and I will never forget it. We are both so excited to start this new chapter of our lives together.
