It was about 10:30pm the Friday before the Firecracker Tournament and those that are in the softball world know that this is a huge tournament! I saw a post from Drew for his coed team that they needed another girl to fill in. Sure enough I answered knowing I was working until noon but let him know I was going to be late. When I got to the field I introduced myself and was told I would be playing right center. Pat was playing short stop and had me move in for the batter that was up to bat. I listened and moved in and the batter hit the ball over my head to where i was originally playing. After I nicely yelled at Pat he was on my radar! Our team ended up making a run for it and came in 2nd place in the bronze bracket of the tournament! After we hung out with the team I had asked Pat to walk me to my car which he was a gentleman and did so. The next day I cautiously sent him a message and the rest is history!
About a year after we had met our team was yet again playing in the Firecracker tournament. Pat had enlisted the help of my Best Friend Alyssa and several of our teammates to help him with the proposal. Our team took a team photo and I had no idea that he had our song "Then" by Brad Paisley playing in the background. I had gotten up from the picture and thought that Pat wanted to take a photo with me completely oblivious to the fact that he was down on one knee! It was the easiest "yes" I have ever said!!!
