Matt and I met on Tinder in January of 2019. After a month of talking and asking questions, our schedules finally aligned and we had our first date February 14, 2019. Since that day forward we stayed in touch with messaging, calling, and snapchat. Our longest phone conversation was close to 6 hours when I was traveling back from Austin, TX. The Proposal: My first internship was located in Fort Worth, TX and had to live in Dallas for 6 weeks. That was the hardest 6 weeks being so far away from each other. We had already planned to have dinner the weekend before February 14, 2020 to celebrate our 1 year of being together, because we figured finding a nice restaurant would be crazy in Dallas on Valentines Day. So, Matt drove all the way to Texas and had planned the whole weekend. Saturday February 1, 2020 Matt wanted to go to the Dallas Botanical Gardens and after walking around for about an hour, he found a place to propose that was beautiful. Matt thought he had set his phone up to record the proposal, but it did not record the proposal. We instead got lucky and a sweet lady that had been walking by saw him proposing and took photos of the proposal. (Below is a photo of the proposal)
