Amidst the global pandemic we were both unsure of what the world had to offer us in terms of relationships in this new virtual world we were living in. So naturally, we met online. Kyle came out with the bold statement of "You're way out of my league, but I'm going to try anyways," and Casey was hooked.
In Kyle's green Lexus RX 300 (because those details matter to him), we went to Kimball's Farm in Westford, MA and played mini golf, got ice cream, and Casey still has the golf ball he bought her from that first date.
This is just a funny story of one of our first dates. We went to a drive in theatre in Milford, NH in Kyle's Crown Vic, it was about an hour from his house and we had argued about which car to take, as he said his was more comfortable than mine. So we went in the Crown Vic, not realizing that there was no radio transmitter in the car, and what is the one thing you need in order to watch a drive in movie? You got it, a radio transmitter. So we bought the movie on Amazon Video, and tried to sync up the sound from our phone with the movie on the screen. Needless to say, it is a date we will never forget.
When Casey was graduating with her Bachelor's degree from Keene State College, it was the perfect opportunity for our families to come together to celebrate such a milestone. It also allowed Kyle the perfect opportunity to get down on one knee in front of all of our loved ones and kick off an even bigger, better reason to celebrate.
Casey and Kyle made their way to Indiana, PA where Casey began a 2-year long program to get her Master's in Student Affairs in Higher Education. Kyle spent his days working and providing while Casey was in school. These years were fun but difficult, graduate school while working near full-time hours is not for the faint of heart. But living together and enjoying date nights in the city, catching Patriots vs. Steelers games, and meeting life-long friends was worth every hardship.
