We went to a restaurant to grab some bites. After several hours, we had to slink out and say our apologies to the waitstaff for keeping them so late (the restaurant had officially closed without us noticing). Come to think of it, this happened on our next several dates as well. What had us caught up talking from Day 1? All the places we want to travel someday (#bucketlist) and how much we love the alternative classics from the 90s and early 2000s (we had a shared love of The Starting Line). We have been going on #KCadventurings and jamming to our fav songs ever since.
Kenny's paternal side is originally from Colombia, so I had been eager to visit the place where they grew up, Cartagena. We planned a trip and the day we landed we strolled around inside the Walled City (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), where we were staying, and ended up on the top of the wall to watch the sunset. Kenny had previously been there many times so he guided us to a cafe that overlooks where the sun sets. We got a good seat right on the wall facing the ocean (Cartagena is on the coast), bought a few tall boys from the street vendor (they were SO cheap!) and watched the sunset. When it was over but before it got dark, we made our way back down the other side of the wall and were right about to go down the stairs to the street when he guided us to a dead end of the wall so he could "throw away his can" (there was a trash can at the end). When he did, he asked me to turn around and face the ocean and sunset so that he could take a picture. Anyways, I'm facing the opposite way looking into the sunset and coast and he tells me he is done and I could turn around. Well, you probably know the rest and when I turned around, he was on one knee with my beautiful ring and popped the question. I said "duh" and the rest has flown by.
