Casey and Kelly have known each other since 2016. Mutual friends introduced Casey to Kelly’s Brother-in-law, Will, and Casey started hanging around their group of friends. Kelly and Casey always felt a spark, the timing was just never right. So for years, they just remained friends. Then finally, during the Summer of 2020, her Sister and Brother-in-law, Ashley and Will, decided to make the timing right! Casey, who was recently single, had no plans for Fourth of July weekend so Will invited Casey to join them in Brian Head, Utah for Fourth of July festivities. Casey, knowing that Kelly would also be there, said yes, immediately. duh. The second they laid eyes on each other, they knew the timing was FINALLY right! After some casual flirting on the trip (and Kelly seeing Casey hold Baby Blake) they started texting non stop. Within a week they were going on their first REAL date and now they are planning their wedding!

Casey wanted to plan an engagement that would surprise Kelly. The plan was simple, make it her idea and get it on a camera. Casey moved in with Kelly in April and because they were new roommates Kelly wanted to send out Christmas cards to their friends and family that year. So Casey went to Ashley (Kelly’s Sister) to help trick Kelly into scheduling a Christmas photoshoot. Kelly set the whole thing up herself. She scheduled the photoshoot with Lianna Marie Photography, who also knew it was a surprise proposal shoot, did her hair, nails, got professionally done make up, and even picked out the outfits. Casey was so nervous at the photo shoot. He even made Kelly drive them there (He had a little liquid courage while Kelly got her make up done). During the photoshoot she even commented on how she could feel his heart beating. After about 20 minutes he couldn’t take it anymore, got down on one knee and popped the question! Where Kelly continued to say “What!?” and wouldn’t answer the question. She finally said yes, we think. After the photos were done, Kelly was ready to tell her friends and family. Casey recommended that they swing by Ashley and Will’s house to show them before they let everyone else know. With the help of Ashley (again!) they had all of their friends and family there to congratulate them! … by the way, we never actually sent out the Christmas cards from the photoshoot. Sorry!

Casey & Kelly took a quick trip up to Tahoe for a weekend getaway with Kelly's sister & brother-in-law, Ashley and Will. While they were there, Casey said "I love you" for the first time so it holds a special place in their hearts.
