John “JJ” Morris and Casey MacArthur’s Love Story Our story began the way many modern love stories do — with a swipe on Facebook Dating. What started as a simple online connection quickly became something neither of us expected. When we met in person for the first time at the OCC, everything felt easy and natural, like we had known each other far longer than we actually had. There was comfort, laughter, and a feeling we couldn’t quite explain. We enjoyed being together so much that the very next night we met again — this time at Ricky T’s — where Casey met JJ’s friends and we watched a Lightning playoff game. From that moment on, it was clear that something special was beginning. Like all real love stories, ours didn’t come without challenges. After a rough start and nearly two months of not speaking, life found a way to bring us back together when it mattered most. One night, when Casey truly needed someone, the only person she could think to call was JJ. Without hesitation, he was there. He stayed with her, made sure she was okay, and even had her stay at his place that night — not because he had to, but because he wanted to be there for her. In that moment, Casey didn’t just feel cared for — she felt chosen. That was the moment she knew — not because of grand gestures, but because he showed up when it mattered most. For JJ, his “I know” moment came when we decided to take a huge leap together: moving in together. It wasn’t a small decision, and it wasn’t taken lightly. He knew it wouldn’t be easy and that nothing was guaranteed, but it was intentional. He understood that love isn’t about certainty — it’s about choice — and Casey was the person he wanted to choose every single day. From that point on, we weren’t just building a relationship; we were building a life. That life led us to fight for something we both wanted so deeply: a home. After finally moving out of our apartment and into the house we worked so hard to rent, Casey planned what she believed was simply a housewarming and birthday party for JJ, whose birthday was the next day. Surrounded by close family and friends in our new home, Casey became overwhelmed — as one does when a house is full and emotions are high. With the help of her bonus sisters, they pulled her aside to calm her nerves and make her laugh. What she didn’t know was that when she walked back into the living room, JJ would be waiting — down on one knee — finally answering the question she had been asking for so long: when? In that moment, everything felt still. Everything felt right. Of course, she said YES! Throughout our relationship, JJ’s family has shown Casey unwavering love, kindness, and support. They welcomed her with open arms and stood beside us through every season. In return, JJ has embraced Casey’s bonus sisters and all of her nieces and nephews as his own — loving them fiercely and wholeheartedly — and proving time and time again the kind of partner, and person, he is. Our love is built on showing up, taking leaps, choosing each other every day, and growing together. It lives in the laughter, the hard conversations, and the way we stand by one another even when it isn’t easy. Marriage, to us, is not just a celebration or a promise — it is a commitment to continue choosing each other, to grow together, to stand side by side through every high and low, and to build a life rooted in love, family, and faith in one another. We can’t wait to say “I do” and begin forever — hand in hand, heart to heart, together.
