Jesse and Casey's story began on a magical Nuit Blanche evening. Jesse was waiting for his friends at the Remai Modern when Kelcy McKenzie, a friend of Casey’s, happened to strike up a conversation. Jesse joined Kelcy’s group as they walked across the Broadway Bridge to meet Casey, who was working at the Yard and Flagon that night. Kelcy couldn’t stop hyping Casey up, insisting Jesse had to meet her. When they arrived, Jesse bought tequila shots to break the ice, and the connection was instant. They spent the rest of the evening exploring Nuit Blanche together—watching the Broadway laser show, visiting The Hose, crossing the Victoria Bridge, and ending the night at Penrose YXE. That night became a tradition. Every year since, they’ve retraced their steps from that first meeting, celebrating the start of their love story. It felt only fitting to follow the same path the night Jesse proposed—and now, as they prepare to say "I do," they’re getting married at a place where their story started. While we can't do it during the actual Nuit Blanche event, we will have all sorts of art and museum exhibits for you to explore and participate in, all on the anniversary of the night and at the place where it all began.

Over a shot of tequila, Jesse read the first letter, reflecting on the serendipitous night they met and the bond they’ve shared since. From there, they headed to the Broadway laser show, a stop that had always been part of their tradition. Jesse read the second letter, sharing memories of their adventures and the light they bring to each other’s lives. Next, they walked across Victoria Bridge, where Jesse paused to read the third letter. It spoke of the bridges they’ve crossed together, the challenges they’ve overcome, and the strength of their love. Finally, they arrived at Alt Hotel Plaza, beneath one of the Nuit Blanche art exhibits. There, Jesse read the fourth and final letter, recounting their journey and asking Casey to spend forever by his side. Of course, Casey said yes! It was a night filled with love, thoughtfulness, and tradition—a perfect beginning to the next chapter of their story.
