Casey and Hunter met during their senior year at North Paulding High School. While they were not in the same classes, they both attended a "river rat" kayaking float trip hosted by Rodney Tumlin (aka the best teacher ever). On the way to the river rat trip, Casey and her friend ended up following Hunter's car. Casey thought to herself, "I bet Hunter would make such a great husband to someone one day." Little did she know at the time, Hunter would become her fiance years later... Fast forward to the start of the float trip. They had just begun to float down the Etowah River, when all of the sudden Casey flips her kayak and falls into the water. Within seconds, Hunter is making his way to the scene... Hunter quickly paddled over to Casey and was ready to save the day... until Casey managed to somehow flip Hunter's kayak upside down causing all of his fishing gear and phone to fall into the water. Now I know what you are thinking... anyone would be furious after being knocked into the chilly water and losing lots of fishing gear... but not Hunter! Hunter quickly managed to flip his kayak back over while getting Casey safely on board. She felt SO awful and apologized for ruining his day of fishing, to which Hunter slyly responded "No worries, you are the best catch of the day." Casey was (and still is) so amazed by his patience and kindness. She immediately felt like she had found the one. Lucky for her, Hunter was also smitten and they started dating the summer before college. Even though they were attending school in different states, they did not let the long-distance hold them back. For four years, they managed through 3.5 hour road trips, nightly face times, and lots of "I miss you" texts. After surviving long distance for four years, they moved to Johnson City, TN with their boston terrier puppy, Bandit. They can't wait to get married next May, and they are looking forward to having you celebrate with them on their big day!
